My computer has died on me at an unfortunate time, making it very difficult (and expensive) to keep up with things.
In the meantime, we have been slowly getting back into the swing of things at agility. We have been training at Whiterose, but after being locked up all day by the time we get to training Tooheys is so over the top with excitement that things are a little hairy..although thankfully that does not include a recurance of his biting my legs whilst running a course. This week though we finally has some semblence of team work going and he worked very well on quite a tight tricky course that had some elements of G5-7 courses. It was so nice to feel the rush of running a course well again! Hopefully that continues.
I will try and upload the courses here once I get my computer issues sorted out, to give some idea on the sorts of courses/skills we are training on.
Last sunday we went to the last of the Northern agility winter series (NAWS) shows - these are smaller independent shows pretty much run by the people I am training with. Truth be told we did pretty dismally. We got 2 runs over each of the agility and jumping course and our second run was no real improvement on the first. The agility course was on the more difficult side of things for G 3&4 but realistically we should have worked it alot better than we did. I was feeling a little rusty and not in the critical positions to work the tight turns instead tending to panic, and Tooheys well he just had a blast. Our dogwalk contacts were absolutely non existent, although I cant really fault him there as we are only partway through retraining them.
Jumping we had a much better run except for a few turns that could have been alot tighter, and a refusal at the weaves (despite having nailed the weave entrance in agility. grr)
Poor Hollie didnt get to play, as although there was a veterans class shes having enough problem with her hind leg for me to want to allow her to jump, even at a low height. Shes not impressed though!
